the ‘liv’ in love to liv

hi, i’m olivia.
i never really know how to start these things.
should i tell you i’m a college student studying musical theatre? this isn’t a cover letter, though.
should i tell you i’m an actor and writer? what i do isn’t who i am, though. (and i’m still learning!)
should i tell you i’m a daughter, a friend, a cousin, a pupil, a peer? okay but who introduces themselves like this except on a blog??
i am all of these, and more.
i love reading (everything, specifically essays, short stories, plays, and dodie smith’s i capture the castle over and over); i love movies (specifically all of greta gerwig’s); my favorite screen actors are saoirse ronan and timothee chalamet and i’m convinced the gerwig-ronan-chalamet trio is a packaged deal (and that, like every other young adult, i will marry mr. chalamet one day); theatre, writing, and loving others are my favorite activities to do which is why i chose to study them (in school and in life); i love semi-colons and a proud fascination with grammar (and promptly ignoring its rules); i have a healthy (obscene) obsession with food, especially baked sweets–i enjoy the whole process of baking including clean-up; i love exercising (specifically with yoga and pilates–thank you, shannon & roxanne :); i am a big fan of puzzles (especially those thomas kinkade disney ones! so beautiful. i get a kick out of them); i think youtube is an awesome idea (bestdressed and rowena tsai are my favorites); i think and tend to talk in rambles as this paragraph clearly shows; i fully believe andrew hozier-byrne ranks among top five men ever to exist, along with my dad (#1) and tom hanks; and finally–most importantly–i love learning how to love myself.
i am always changing.
part of this change is relearning how to practice love myself every single day.
it may seem odd to have a blog dedicated to self-love & wellness & theatre when i am not an expert in these areas. i don’t claim to be an expert in these areas; perhaps i never will.
but i do know it’s a whole lot better when we figure it out together.
if i can love myself and others authentically, and meet this love where i can each day, i will have lived a good life.
